Twenty Something

My twenty something-th birthday was on Saturday- and I was lucky enough to get not one...but TWO lemon birthday cakes!  One made by Yunny and the other by the Langridge girls.  Although I have never considered lemon cake my "favorite cake" (cause carrot cake will always win that competition)- I think I can scoot lemon cake into #2 favorite cake after this birthday!  I love lemon anything.. and in a cake?  Thats hard to beat!

The morning of my birthday was spent looking at rental places with Dan- while Dyllan hung out with the Langridges (where she helped make my birthday cake and decorate the house with balloons, signs, and streamers).  Dan and I returned around 1 with tons of sushi to share- we ate sushi and they light my birthday candles for me to make a wish (I wish I could be 29 for a few more years!)

After lunch we made a trip to Mona Vale- to pick up some papers to accompany our rental applications- said hi to Lionel and Kayleigh- then headed home to get ready for my surprise birthday night Dan had planned out.

At around 6- we filled up our to-go wine glasses- and headed to the Manly ferry dock.  With a few minutes to spare before the ferry left- we stopped off at the candy stand to stalk up for the ferry ride.

Dan had the whole night planned- and Sean and Lauren were in on it.  Together- they all treated me to dirty martinis and dinner at 36 Levels Above- the restaurant at the Shangra La Hotel downtown Sydney.  It was poring rain - and we just sat there - perched up top of the city- and talked, laughed, ate, drank.. even met some new friends.. for hours!  It was a perfect night.

We got the late ferry home- and couldn't resist a late night kebab at the Manly corso on the way back.

I am going to enjoy this last 20- something birthday to its fullest extent!  Next year..I'll be OLD!

The photo from the website looks much better than mine- but this is where we sat- and what we drank.. funny someone else had the exact same idea!
