Ellie can travel!

Just in the nick of time- Ellie's Australian as sport arrived today! Look at our little traveler. Nice mug Ellie!

Cool Shades, Dyllan

I think it's funny that whenever the sun is in Dyllans eyes- she complains that it's "too sunny". Whenever she says this- I laugh to myself and think "if only you lived in Seattle...you wouldn't have this problem". Fortunately for Dyllan she's got these awesome shades to keep the pesky sun out of her eyes;)

Kids Club

This sums up what my kids do while I am at the gym: Dyllan plays dressups while Ellie beaches herself on the play mat. A pretty good deal for $3 an hour!

Sunday Swimming and Firsts for Ellie

Sunday we headed to the Sydney Olympic Aquatic Center to get out of the rain and take the kids swimming.  Dyllan was so excited she could hardly stand it.  It was Ellie's first time swimming- and she absolutely loved it.  She hung out, splashing around with Dan for close to an hour- while I gave Dyllan a little swim lesson.  Dyllan is becoming quite the swimmer- and although she would rather goof off than listen to me- she managed to learn a little bit.

Dyllan loved the slides- and her favorite part was the giant bucket (in the bottom right picture) - it fills up with water- then a bell rings and the bucket dumps water on everyone standing below!  She thought it was great!
After the pool- we headed to a neighborhood we had never been to- Woolwich- for lunch at a cute waterfront cafe called Boat Dock.  Dan and I sipped wine while we Dyllan provided live entertainment.  We even got to see the start of a sailboat race.
On the way home- we stopped off at Ikea to get Ellie her first highchair.  I think she likes it...

Ellie: going, going, gone..

Little Ellie has had a rough week- first conjunctivitis- then a cold.. Throw in major teething and you have one exhausted baby (and mom & dad)!

Today Dyllan, Ellie and I sat down on my bed to watch the Ellen show- as we do when we can get our act together (dinner/bath) by 5:30pm (rarely).. Ellie could barely keep her eyes open long enough to finish the bottle before passing out.

So...so... Schleepy... Can.. Not.. Stay.. Awake.. Both arms down, one goes up.. Both up... snoring!

Dyllans got the green fingers

I love that Yunny has a garden and she's taught Dyllan all the tips and tricks for growing vegis. Dyllan showed me how to pick and eat parsley today- ha. I remember when I was little planting parsley with my mom and eating it too.

Thanks Yunny for watching the girls today while I got my hair done;) the girls both love hanging out with you!

A croc at the hardware store

I took Dyllan to the local hardware store this morning to get a few fly traps- and look what we were greeted by!

Bunnings is amazing- not only do they have a big indoor playground for the kids- often on the weekends they have things like face painting, a petting zoo, and now wild animals.

Needless to say- we left just before the man got out his bag of snakes! Eeeeeeewwww.

Vivid Sydney

Tonight Katie and I (plus the kids) ventured into the city to grab a few drinks at opera bar and watch the Vivid Light Show- a big light show that takes place in circular quay- on the opera house and all the buildings surrounding. (The boys had a boys night out).

Dyllan especially loved the light show- and riding on the ferry.

Well- it's 8pm on Sunday night ( public holiday tomorrow- so kind of like a Saturday night) and I'm off to bed! Haha..
