Meat Pie Tantrum

OMG! This was hilarious!  Last Friday night- Dyllan and I dropped my friend Katie off at her house after Dyllan's daycare- and came straight home.. and APPARENTLY Dyllan was so hungry she just couldn't wait...and unbearably impatient... In a pinch- I decided to throw in a couple meat pies into the oven for dinner.... and somebody just couldn't wait for them to be ready!  As soon as the pies went from the freezer to the oven.. she started throwing a "meat pie" tantrum.  Over and over again.. "meat.. pie!!... meat!! Pie!!!)  Haha, enjoy the video.. DRAMA QUEEN!

MEAT PIE!!

What-a-view! Kirribilli Open House

No big deal.  Just the view from my our open house on Saturday.  No need for a TV here.. the Sydney harbor is constant entertainment.  Especially on a sunny summer Saturday (not pictured here!) when all the party cruises are out on the water.

.. IF only I had a spare $3million sitting around.  Believe it or not- the guy selling this used this "pad" for his office.  Thats it.  Just a place to get work done from- away from home.  Imagine that?!

Tuesday nights

Tuesday nights are awesome.  Not that we don't love spending every waking minute with Mrs. Bug- but I think I speak for both of us- when I say we LOVE our Bug free- Date nights!  Every Tuesday night- Dyllan spends with Yunny and Lozzo, which means one night a week we can do whatever we want.  Last week we were supposed to go visit Bushy (one of Dan's best friends) and Stacey's new baby (Baby Finn) in the hospital.  They ended up canceling- so we ventured over to the beach for wine out of plastic cups and cheese/crackers with no knife.  We stayed for a while.. finished out wine and snacks.. then headed over to a "hotel" (bar/restaurant) for dinner and live music.  Perfect way to spend a child free night if you ask me:)

A photo a day.. we're not so far away

So... I haven't been the best at posting to my blog lately... excuses excuses.. but I think the more time between posts, the more daunting it seems to pick it back up.. so I have decided to commit to a photo a day for the next 30 days and see how it goes.  No matter how busy, I should be able to post 1 photo a day.. even if there are no words, captions, or titles to go with it.  By posting a photo a day.. it won't feel like we are so far away (from friends and family back in the USA).

So today- April 1st  (no its not a joke) will mark day #1 of a photo a day.  And some days- when I have more time, or have something to add.. I will do more.

This was this morning.. Dyllan thought she would sneak into Dan's backpack and go to work with him.. she got quite a kick out of herself.. and we did too!

Play date with Alex

Dyllan has a new boyfriend at daycare.  His name is Alex.  Every time we head to daycare, she squeals "Alex, Alex, Alex"  The ladies who work there think its so funny- they are inseparable.  Apparently they can't get the two of them to leave the sandpit.

Last week Alex's mom gave us an invite to Alex's 3rd Birthday party.  unfortunately we couldn't make it- so we decided to set up a play date today at their house.

It was great- it was so funny to watch them play together.  Copying each others every move, screaming at the top of their lungs, lots of cuddles (mainly from Alex to Dyllan- but she didn't mind)..  Its great to see Dyllan having such a fun time with her new friend.

Here are a few pictures the daycare sent us of Alex and Dyllan - in the sandpit of course.

Poppy and Tatyana's Visit- Collage

Tatyana and I hiked up to the lighthouse at Palm Beach.  Made it to the top!  Dad and Tatyana and I spent a full day at Freshwater "Freshy" beach while Dyllan was at Daycare (top right) one day, haha!

Our firs time trying Barefoot Lawn bowls... quite the scene...

Icebergs @ Bondi Beach

Bondi Beach- Tatyana and Dad had fun doing the Baywatch run up the beach.  After the day at the beach we went to Iceburgs for dinner.

Dyllan waiting at the airport for them to arrive, Tatyana diving off the pool wall at Shelly Beach, Dad Tatyana and Dyllan on the couch, jumping for joy on the harbor, Dad and Dyllan at Dee Why pool, Tatyana eager on the first day to get in for a swim, Dyllan with her new tutu from Auntie Kathy, Dyllan and Poppy on their last day at Manly beach, Dyllan and Dolly with matching PJ's
Hikes, Dinner in the city, some wildlife (blue tongue lizard), dropping Dyllan off at daycare, and Dyllan's foot phone
For St. Patricks Day dad cooked up a BIG Irish meal- corned beef and cabbage - we watched the olympic trials as we ate.

The Eagles have landed

Dad and Tatyana have arrived!  ...and we have been go go go since they landed.  They arrived Monday morning- and we went straight to the beach.  Tatyana was like a puppy who was about to go on a walk... she just couldnt wait!  We barely put their bags down before she was in her swim suit and ready to go for a dip.  The sun was out all day- which was lucky as its been pretty rainy here lately.  We had a BBQ dinner in our back yard, and Dyllan was the live entertainment with her latest dance moves.

Yesterday we all got up early- and Dan took Dad and Tatyana down to Manly beach for an early morning swim.  I was glad I didnt join them, because they saw 2 black tip sharks swim by below them!! SCARY!  I guess it didnt phase them much because they were back in the ocean that afternoon.  Marianne picked them up for lunch in Dee Why and another swim at the beach, and garden tour.  Does Marianne know them too well or what?!

They only had an hour to rest/change/ and get ready for dinner.  Dan and I got home from work around 5:30- and off we went.. down to Manly Wharf Bar for pizzas and wine.  A nice early dinner that lingered for a few hours as we talked and watched the sun set.

Today- Dan and I are both working again.. and I Dad and Tatyana can hop off the busy train and relax.. for a whole day... that is until we get home... and off we'll go again!  haha.  We are loving having them here!!

Dyllan anxiously waiting for their arrival.  We did see Tara Reid and Stiffler walk off the plane before them!

Tatyana charging the waves!

Just some casual thongs at Manly beach..

A cute tutu from Kathy Thorsvig came with Dad and Tatyana!  Dyllan LOVES IT!!

Dyllan in her new tutu.. and our attic stairs- to Dan and I's new fort/bedroom!
