Tomorrow afternoon I board a plane (business class!) headed for Bali. Work has rewarded 10 of us with this trip for high performance. The trip sounds amazing- everything was left as a surprise until the other day- when we were handed out itineraries. The only thing missing is Dan..
I originally declined the offer to go on the trip thinking it would be too much with a little baby and Dan having to take off work (the rest of the gang is there from Thurs- Tuesday). After I declined my boss asked if there was any way I could just go for the weekend (friday night- Monday morning). I didn't have to ask Dan twice- he immediately responded "Do it!". I don't know many guys that would have encouraged this- as Ellie is still so dependent on me- and quite frankly two kids on your own is a handful. But Dan didn't hesitate to step up. Is he the best of what?!
So tomorrow I head to Bali- a place I have never been but hear so much about. From the gorgeous beaches, to the warm water, to the pirated DVDs and knock off shopping- it sounds like the perfect vacation. I have to admit- I am itching to a little vacation.
