Candy got in my mouth

Dan and I were dying laughing at Dyllan tonight...

About 20 min after Dan tucked Dyllan into bed, she came running down the hall to our room in a panic crying "brush my teeth, brush my teeth again"! Worried, we both sat her down on our bed and asked her whats wrong?? She told us, sobbing.. "candy got into her mouth..".  Dan and I were doing our best to hold in our laugh (both turning to the side to laugh!) , as we tried to be serious and ask her "how?!"  The told us "the candy in my treasure box got into my mouth".. yes Dyllan, but "how did it get in your mouth?!"  ... "my hand put it in there".  I think she was so worried cause the super stale candy that she hoards in her treasure box probably hurt her teeth or got stuck in them..

Candy is a tricky one with Dyllan.  She loves candies "lollies", but doesnt like to actually eat them.. instead, she hoards them and stores them in all kinds of weird little places (purses, treasure boxes, baggies..)  But the battle I have with her, is not so much that she has the candies, but the fact that I find them around the house and Ellie could potentially get her hands on them.

Just like her mom, Dyllan is a sweet tooth...

Ive tried making Candy a "special treat" which made the obsession even worse... so I tried making candy "no big deal"- giving her candy like it didnt really matter. And that helped, but I couldnt keep track of the little pieces and i'd find it around the house, stuck to the carpet and again a potential choking hazard.  Hmm.. not sure what to do about this issue?!

Kids club, ballet, swimming.. Oh my!

Thursdays are going to be pretty busy. Today was the first day of dyllans ballet- she was soo excited!

We started off the morning at the gym (aka "the zoo" dad!) kids in kids club. This morning I went to pick them up and they both had their faces painted. Dyllan a beautiful butterfly- Ellie just a red nose (Rudolf?). I had to scrub it off and chance Dyllan in the car cause we headed straight to ballet.

After ballet we came home for lunch (but starting next thurs we will be going straight to Ellie's swim lesson). Then this afternoon Dyllan had swim lessons.

Busy but super fun day with the kidos.

Tomorrow we are heading down to surfers paradise with a few mom friends for a beach day and a BBQ at one of my friends parents beach house. Woo hoo- bring on Friday and the weekend!

Scooter Found

On Friday night Dyllan, Ellie and I went down to the river to meet some friends at the park. It started to rain, so we headed to the car- and in the flurry to get the kids out of the rain, I must have left her scooter on the footpath next to the car. Doh.

I posted "missing" messages all over Facebook and littered the town with "lost Scooter" signs.

This morning I got a text from a runner saying she had found dyllans scooter next to my sign! Success!

I think I'm more happy than Dyllan!

My job as scooter detective has come to an end... Now what should we do today?!
