About 20 min after Dan tucked Dyllan into bed, she came running down the hall to our room in a panic crying "brush my teeth, brush my teeth again"! Worried, we both sat her down on our bed and asked her whats wrong?? She told us, sobbing.. "candy got into her mouth..". Dan and I were doing our best to hold in our laugh (both turning to the side to laugh!) , as we tried to be serious and ask her "how?!" The told us "the candy in my treasure box got into my mouth".. yes Dyllan, but "how did it get in your mouth?!" ... "my hand put it in there". I think she was so worried cause the super stale candy that she hoards in her treasure box probably hurt her teeth or got stuck in them..
Candy is a tricky one with Dyllan. She loves candies "lollies", but doesnt like to actually eat them.. instead, she hoards them and stores them in all kinds of weird little places (purses, treasure boxes, baggies..) But the battle I have with her, is not so much that she has the candies, but the fact that I find them around the house and Ellie could potentially get her hands on them.
Just like her mom, Dyllan is a sweet tooth...
Ive tried making Candy a "special treat" which made the obsession even worse... so I tried making candy "no big deal"- giving her candy like it didnt really matter. And that helped, but I couldnt keep track of the little pieces and i'd find it around the house, stuck to the carpet and again a potential choking hazard. Hmm.. not sure what to do about this issue?!
"My hand put it there!" -- I love that. Happens to me All. The. Time. Well said Dylls! XO Tatyana
