Snow Day!

Today was another snow day!  This time- no one went anywhere.  Sean actually hiked up the driveway in his suite and tie- and slick slip-n-slide shoes to his car up at the top of the driveway - only to find the road was a solid sheet of ice.  Haha- sucker had to slip and slide all the way down our steep hill as if he were on skies.  There was a solid slide track in the fresh snow this morning from Sean's mission to the top- lucky for him he didnt fall and land on his butt.

Seeing as we all had the day off- we decided to enjoy the snow... just like old times.  Sean made his signature snowball- didnt quite get to the snowman yet- but I'm sure he is saving that for tomorrow..

Winter wonderland!

'Wow- what a crazy start to winter!  SNOW!  I heard on the radio that the forecast called for snow- but quite honestly, I didnt really believe it... until yesterday...  Yesterday morning Dan, Sean and I did a 10k race along alki beach- probably the most freezing place you could be... windy, cold, and early in the morning.  Lucky for Dyllan- our good friends Tyler and Michelle volunteered to babysit while we ran the race.  We parked the car and headed straight for Tullys to get a coffee- and watch the start line until 30 seconds before the start (we wernt the only ones with this idea!).  Dan raced off ahead- and Sean and I ran together.  Dan finished first overall!!- by a long shot- and won himself a nice new t-shirt- while Sean and I jogged along behind- not doing too horrible either.  I think because it was so cold- it took us a while to warm up.. 10k to be exact.  No wonder we were so cold- just as we finished the race- the snow flakes began to fall.  (At least I dont feel like such a wuss now- it really WAS cold.) 

After the race- we headed back to Tyler and Michelle's for an awesome champagne brunch- blueberry pancakes, Bacon, eggs, mimosas with rasberry sorbet (a new favorite!), champagne- the works!  Brunch turned into football, and pretty soon nearly dinner.. we decided we better head on our way- and made a quick stop at REI on the way home.
