Monday we decided enough was enough with Ellie's night wakings. She was getting in the habit of waking up 4-6 times a night for either her bottle of dummy (pacifier). Soo after procrastinating for months in fear of the meltdowns ahead we decided it was time to just get rid of then cold turkey.
So on Monday, Ellie put all her dummies and bottles in a plastic bag and we sent them off to the funny fairies. In return, the dummy fairies let her pick out a new toy. Ellie chose a baby doll with a bag of accessories. We came home and reiterated that the fairies took her bottle and funny and have her a baby doll instead. She understood.
First thing Ellie did was open the bag of accessories and went straight for the bottle and the dummy. Haha!! Fail?!
That night at bedtime, she went to sleep reluctantly.. As she usually falls asleep with her milk bottle and dummy..
She woke up several times upset, asking for them. I decided to go sleep next to her to avoid her having to get up and come into our room. She woke up prob 4 times, screaming and upset. She would carry on crying for about 45 min at a time before she would finally drift off... Ugh.. It was a long night.. And poor Dyllan had to listen to her From the top bunk too...
So last night, Dan and I bracers ourselves for another long, painful night f no sleep and screaming.. But to our surprise.. She slept through!! Well, until 4am, which was great! When she came into our room she did t even ask for her dummy or bottle. Success!! Fingers crossed.. Hopefully it was that easy?! Or maybe we are in for more tonight..
