Taking the dogs to the beach in Santa Cruz

Dad is so much fun!



 Road trip is going great so far! We couldn't ask for a better baby, a
happy dog, or place to stay. We pulled up to Debbie's house Tuesday
evening just in time for dinner. Debbie was fighting bronchitis and
had lost her voice completely- so we all decided that staying in and
catching up over takeout Chinese sounded fabulous! Debbie's daughter
Celeste and two kids- Parker (almost 7) and Lorenzo (4).
Yesterday morning we woke up early ish and went for a run around
Campbell. Debbie lives right along a river that has a gorgeous jogging
path that stretches miles- with dog parks, people parks, and fishing
holes along the way! Mylo unfortunately wouldn't budge ( partly
because shes hurt her pad) so she stayed home and hung out with
Debbie's dog Lilah.
In 2004 Dan and his "mates" spent a summer in Santa Cruz as they
ventured from Canada through the US in their dumpy RV called "Warren"-
so naturally Dan was pumped to show us his old stomping ground. We
packed up Debbies car with 2 dogs 2 kids, and some starbucks, and
headed to Santa Cruz for the afternoon. It was windy and chilly but we
were soo happy to FINALLY see some sunshine ( and no rain!)!!
We took the gang to the "naked dog park" as Debbie calls it
( apparently it attracts naked people and off leash dogs- perfect.
Mylo let us know that she was in heaven! After a good romp by all,
Celeste and Renzo met up with us for lunch at The Crows Nest. We
scoffed big time- rocking up 20 min before happy hour. We sipped cold
beers and bloody marys and ordered just about one of everything on the
happy hour menu times 2 rounds ( thanks Dan!). After lunch/ dinner we
got a tour of Santa Cruz from Dan and Debbie- seeing each of their old
houses/ rv parks along the way.
The rest of the evening we spent catching up and chatting while
exchanging photos and making new CDs. Great visit with Debbie! Now off
to LA...
