Teeth!

Dyllan's bottom two teeth are coming in! I stuck my finger in her mouth and felt along her gums last night- and could feel two (or maybe just one) bottom front teeth coming in.   It seems like she has been "teething" for a few months now- drool everywhere, chewing on anything and everything, and obsessed with putting things in her mouth.  She cracks me up- she will lay on her back in "happy baby" yoga position, grabbing both of her feet- and shoveling them in her mouth.  So flexible.

I guess most babies start getting their first teeth between 4 and 7 months.  Dyllan just turned 7 months- so she is on the late end.. but since she was 2 months early- that is expected.

So far so good with the whole "teething" thing.  I have heard nightmare stories about how their babies are miserable and in so much pain they can't stop crying.  Dyllan hasnt done any of that yet.  A friend recommended teething tablets (hylandsteething.com)- it's a natural homeopathic tablet that dissolves under her tongue- and is supposed to help sooth.  I have given it to her a few times and she seems to like the taste and licks her mouth kind of like a dog when you give her peanutbutter.  She seems content instantly.  So I guess it does something?!

This week I think I will try making some baby food with the baby food grinder I got for my shower.  I will keep you posted on how that goes.. for now she is pretty good at feeding herself.

  1. So exciting!!! Have Motrin on stand by, just in case. Kelsey had a hard time when they cut through the gums. Hurray!!! Oh, and good luck. :) I hear she is just the charmer, so I'm sure this won't even phase her.

I am an old friend of your mom's from Westport, and am saddened beyond words to learn of her passing. I'd like to send you a private note if that's ok. My email is jtreilly@live.com. By the way, you have an AMAZINGLY beautiful baby! Jeff Reilly

  3. Hi there, Celeste Flores told me your baby looked like a mongoloid monkey with downs syndrome but I was sure she was joking. Obviously she was not.
